If you have a teen child that is addicted to drugs, you may consider hosting an addiction intervention to help guide your child to seeking help from a drug rehabilitation center. Drug interventions have proven to be quite successful in helping people both young and old realize they have a problem, and lead them towards seeking the help that they need.

Planning an addiction intervention does require some thought to ensure that it is successful. If you are unsure how to go about planning your intervention, you may first want to seek counseling yourself from a substance abuse counselor that can help you with the process. These counselors can help you plan your teens intervention and many will even attend the intervention with you to help you with the process and help you convince your teen they have a problem and need help.  Friends and family that care for the child should be included in the addiction intervention, however since teens can often be rebellious, it is often best to only include those people that the teen feels comfortable with and does not feel threatened by. Additionally, you should not include people the teen has strong negative personal issues with. If you are wanting to invite teenage friends of your child, it is important to make sure that the friends you are inviting do not have drug addictions themselves, as this can cause a negative impact on the intervention.
