Withdrawal has got to be the single most important event to occur in a substance abuse rehabilitation center. In these substance abuse facility treatment centers, the nurses and doctors watch over patients as they painfully go through this long process of substance abuse detox. Since entering the substance abuse treatment center, the patient will no longer de introducing harmful chemicals into his or her bodily system.

Do not underestimate your addiction. It is a difficult foe that will not give in easily. The commitment level required can be hard to explain to the addict attempting recovery. It is sometimes even harder to explain to those around the addict. Addicts loved ones often make uninformed statements like “why don’t you just quit” or “You started this thing and now you need to stop it”. It is certainly not the speakers fault. Those who have not struggled with addiction can not be expected to understand. Substance abuse recovery is not easy. It is not something that can be done alone.
