You’re Hooked

Addiction is not as complicated as many make it out to be. It isn’t easy by any means but it isn’t complicated. It’s about as simple as a fishing hook. When that hook with it’s worm or it’s cheese or whatever bait it has on it hits the water, the fisherman has done his part. At that point every thing is up to the fish. The fish chooses to come to the area where the bait and hook are. The fish chooses to take that first nibble and then the fish chooses to take the full bite. The addict makes all these same choices; choosing to be around drugs, choosing to try that first little bit, and finally choosing to consume a large amount.

At this point both the fish and the addict have one thing in common, they’re hooked. They now have the hook sunk deep in them and as they try to free themselves of their newfound burden they find that the hook is barbed and does not release them with nearly the ease that it went into them

The hook of drug addiction can be overcome with care more easily than it can with force. No mere will power or determination will make completing an addiction recovery program possible. The good news is that help is available. Our facility for substance abuse recovery has the knowledge base developed through prior experience. The combination of the will power that you bring to the table and the life skills and decision making that we are able to assist you in developing you will be able to defeat addiction.

While the program is strong the most important thing is that you are willing to take the first step by seeking recovery. It may not have the lure that drug abuse did, but addiction recovery can give you back so much that drug dependency has taken away.
